The perfect extension to cope with the needs of a growing family

I cannot tell you how much of a breath of fresh air Architect Your Home were compared to the other architects. They listened to all of my ideas and came up with recommendations that I would never have even thought of, they really did exceed all of my expectations.

L.Elliot, Wimbledon

Full width Rear Extension

When this family started to grow, they needed more space but didn’t want to move house, so they started to think about renovating their home instead. They wanted to use the expertise of an architect but found traditional practices difficult to work with, taking ages to respond and not being clear what they were charging for.

For this customer they were delighted when they found Architect Your Home’s pay-as-you–go menu of services as she could now involve her architect as and when she needed their expert input.

A place for the growing family

One of the motivations behind this renovation was to find storage for the children’s toys. The architect managed to manipulate the various areas and re-arrange certain elements to achieve the storage requirements. The design also included folding /sliding glass doors into the garden that gave the extension a contemporary feel, something that customer had wanted from the start.

Plans

Once the building work was underway the architect helped with all aspects of the build and advised on the many practical considerations such as the best flooring to buy and how to get the most out of her glass roof by using a type of reflective glass for the roof that didn’t retain heat.

The customer was happy to make many of the on-site decisions herself but was re-assured by the fact that her architect was on hand to give advice when it was needed without the her having to foot the bill for a full time project manager.
