A desirable period property in need of an extensive but sensitive re-modeling and updating.

I am very pleased with the work Architect Your Home did for us. Our architect understood what we wanted to achieve and amalgamated his own ideas with ours to create a brilliant result.

Full house renovation

Taking on a home renovation project is very exciting, seeing how the existing rooms can be manipulated into spaces designed for you is a very thrilling process and Architect Your Home can help you get the most out of the experience.

The customer bought this house with the intention to completely reconfiguring the interior, bring it up-to-date and in particular create a glorious space for entertaining. The architect opened up the entire lower ground level into an impressive kitchen/dining and living area with folding doors giving access to rear garden, he then found space in the disused coal cellar for the extremely important wine cellar!

Turning a house into a home

In order to carry out a sympathetic renovation you need to recognize what existing features and rooms need to be kept to retain the property’s character and what can be sacrificed to meet its new functional requirements.

Here the architect took the unusual step of losing 2 smaller bedrooms in order to realise the customer’s requirement for a large spacious bedroom with a walk-in dressing room and en-suite bathroom.

Plans

There are very few designs that can't be built, it is simply a combination of imagination and knowledge fused with a desire to solve difficult issues rather than walk away from them.

With this project the customers wanted their home to be mainly open plan but this created complications with achieving the necessary fire safety regulations. Instead of giving up on the idea the architect worked closely with the Building Control Officer to work out how, by installing a sprinkler system throughout the house the customers could have the home they wanted.
