Dilapidated doctor's surgery gets the treatment required to make a full recovery

It was great to know that at each stage there was the flexibility to decide to 'go it alone' & dispense with Architect Your Home's services, but we consistently found that the value outweighed the cost and the architect's involvement was invaluable - from planning, project management, through to completion.

Rebecca, N. London

Conversion of surgery & flat into a 5 bedroom home

Architect Your Home is all about flexibility and giving their customers the choice to use the services they feel will add value to their building project.

With this conversion the customer decided she wanted to buy some CAD software and have a go at some of the initial design work herself.

She then approached Architect Your Home to consolidate the design and put it into effect. During their discussions the architect was able to provide practical advice on the customer’s designs, and illuminate other design possibilities, some of which the customer adopted.

Helping an idea come to fruition

It was so refreshing for this customer to find an architect who would happily work with her ideas, shaping and developing them into her ideal solution and then produce sketches to bring the scheme to life. Architect Your Home believes that one of the most important skills an architect should have is listening, so that they fully understand the true nature of the project and their design can respond accordingly.

Budgeting

We all have an amount of money we are happy to spend on our building project. This customer wanted to ensure her design aspirations were aligned with her budget constraints so asked her architect to produce a full tender package so as to get accurate, comparative quotes from the builders.

Tendering

These drawings show the construction of the building in detail and when combined with a schedule of works – which lists all the various elements of the construction, they form a comprehensive package of information. This enables the builders to give a true and accurate price and prevents them from being able to claim for ‘unknown extras’ once on site.
